Welcome to Smart Homes! Here, we interview Reservoir customers on life before and after a Reservoir.

We sat down with a Somerville, MA customer that came to us for a same-day, emergency install.

What led your family to get a Reservoir? Were there specific features you looked for?

This was an emergency install. Our gas water heater died, and we had known for a while that we wanted to get a heat pump water heater next. We reached out to our friends at Laminar Collective, and luckily they were in the middle of coordinating with Reservoir, so we were able to get an install that day.

How was your install experience?

The install went great. Since it was an emergency install, we were incredibly lucky and grateful for the quick turnaround. No electrical upgrade was needed. I enjoyed learning from the installers about the "loop" that makes the instant hot water feature work.

How has your experience been using Reservoir so far? Have you seen a reduction in your water and energy bills?

So far things have worked great. We have yet to get a bill for a full cycle with the new water heater, so I can't draw any conclusions yet.

What does climate resilience mean to you?

To me, one of the most important aspects of climate resilience is accessibility and affordability for all. Adaptation for a changing climate can't just be accessible to those with means, otherwise we all suffer.
