Reservoir Wins at the CEE Integrated Home Competition
Reservoir's N51 Heat Pump Water Heater was named a winner in the 2026 CEE Integrated Home Competition, announced this week at the Consortium for Energy Efficiency's Industry Partners Meeting in Portland, Oregon. We were one of five products recognized out of 26 finalists.
About the Integrated Home Competition
CEE is a nonprofit that brings together US and Canadian energy efficiency program administrators, and the Integrated Home Competition is its flagship contest for connected home products. Every entry is evaluated against four criteria:
Energy efficiency: how much energy the product saves
Demand flexibility: how well it can shift or shed load when the grid needs it to
Consumer amenity: whether it actually makes life easier for the person using it, not just the utility running the program
Security: how the product protects both the home and the data it collects
The judging panel called out three things about Reservoir N51 specifically: its integrated recirculation pump, its home protection features, and its warranty.
Integrated recirculation pump
Normally, when you turn on the hot water at the tap or the shower, you have to wait for it to travel to you through the pipes. A recirculation pump pushes hot water through pipes proactively, so you can get hot water the moment you turn on the tap, even if it hasn't been running.
Reservoir N51 Max offers an integrated recirculation pump, so you get faster hot water without a separate piece of hardware to plumb in and maintain.
Plus, with an internet connection, Reservoir can proactively circulate hot water through your pipes when it's cold out to prevent frozen pipes.
Home protection features
Water heaters are one of the more common sources of home water damage, so Reservoir watches for signs of bacterial growth, leaks, or unusual water use, and can shut things down before a small problem becomes a flooded basement.
Strong warranty
And the warranty is exactly what it sounds like: with a two-year labor warranty and a ten-year parts warranty on every water heater we sell, we stand behind the machine for longer than the industry expects us to, because we build it to last that long.
None of this is flashy. It's a water heater, and it works the way a water heater should: reliably and without asking the homeowner to think about it much. That's what the CEE judges recognized, and it's what we set out to build in the first place.
